Following the recent killings in the Gorilla Sector, Joseph Aloma and his troop will be constantly on patrol in the area for the coming months. For this reason, while he is out in the field there will not be much activity on his blog, however when we do have news from him we will certainly post it here.

For now, to follow the progress of the work being done to protect the gorillas, please visit the Gorilla Protection blog.

Thank you

The WildlifeDirect Team

I didnt know about what you were doing until I saw an article this week in Newsweek here in the US. I think it is wonderful and extremly admirable that you all are risking your safety/lives to help protect these animals. The photographs I saw in Newsweek this week were very sad. I am going to tell everyone I know about this organization to try and get more funding to help you guys out.

my friend! my mentor! how are you? it has been a long time and I am sorry you have been having a tough time out there. I’ve been following it whenever I can. I just got back from Afghanistan where there was heavy fighting (like a movie it was so heavy!) but they didn’t give me a rifle for protection……..I hear you finally got to see our film about you all. I hope you likd it. Courage. Ben

Traditionally here in Canada, we tend to think heroes are the soldiers posted throughout troubled parts of our world or firefighters that run into burning buildings to save someone’s life.
But to some of us, the work and the sacrifices that people like you make are far, far greater than anything that a soldier can ever do. Many of us really do admire people like you “fighting the good fight”. Just wanted to let you know that your work does not go unrecognized. Kudos to you and all the people that you work with this very important cause.. Thank You!
